Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Colored sugar or granulated sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F and prepare cookie sheets with cooking parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup of granulated sugar and butter until light and fluffy using an electric mixer or a spoon. Mix in vanilla, nutmeg, and egg. Stir in flour and baking soda. Shape teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place them 2 inches apart on lined cookie sheets. Gently flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until fully set. Transfer from cookie sheets to a cooling rack and let cool completely for about 20 minutes. Store in an airtight container once cooled.
