Indulge in creamy oyster chowder with potatoes and corn for a delectable seafood delight.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) container shucked oysters, drained with liquid reserved
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 potato, diced
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped broccoli
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.5 cup frozen corn
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a skillet over medium heat, gently cook the oysters and their reserved liquid until the edges curl, which should take about 5 to 10 minutes. Once done, simply remove the skillet from the heat.
  • In a saucepan, unite onion, potato, broccoli, water, and corn; bring to a lively boil. Simmer gently until veggies are tender, around 10 to 15 minutes. Drain veggies, but keep the flavorful liquid aside.
  • In a big pan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth for about 1 minute. Slowly add reserved vegetable water and milk to the butter-flour mixture. Cook until thickened for about 5 minutes. Mix in oysters and vegetables, cook over medium-low heat until heated through, around 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
