Elevate a beloved family dish with simple hacks for a quick and delicious meal.
Ingredients:
  • 20g butter
  • 2 large red onions, cut into wedges
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 40.00 ml red wine vinegar
  • 130g mayonnaise
  • 2.50 gm smoked paprika
  • 740g beef burger
  • 4 tasty cheese slices
  • 4 Crusty Round Rolls, split
  • 1 green oakleaf lettuce, leaves separated
  • 225g can sliced beetroot, drained
  • 1 vine-ripened tomato, thickly sliced
  • Barbecue sauce, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a frying pan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the onion and cook for 15 minutes until it starts to caramelize. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Then, add the sugar and vinegar, and cook for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Combine the mayonnaise and paprika in a bowl.
  • Preheat a sizzling barbecue flat-plate over medium-high heat. Grill the patties for 3 minutes on each side until fully cooked. Top each patty with a slice of cheese and continue grilling for 1 minute until the cheese is just melted.
  • Layer lettuce, beetroot, tomato, and mayonnaise on bread roll bases. Top with patties, onion, sauce, and finally, the bread roll tops.
