Satisfy meat-lovers with zesty Cuban black bean burgers, ready in just 25 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 can (15.5 oz) Progresso™ black beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon Cuban seasoning
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Progresso™ plain bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 4 burger buns, split
  • 1 medium avocado, pitted, peeled and sliced
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • Fresh cilantro, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and generously coat a cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  • Place beans in a medium bowl and mash them with a fork. Stir in Cuban seasoning, onion, and bell pepper until well mixed. Add bread crumbs and egg, mixing thoroughly.
  • Form the mixture into 4 patties, each approximately 4 inches wide, and arrange them on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, then flip and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Place the beef patties on the bottom halves of the buns. Top each patty with 2 slices of creamy avocado, a refreshing squeeze of lime juice, a sprinkle of fragrant cilantro, and the top halves of the buns. Serve with a lime wedge on the side.
