Elevate brownies with rich black forest flavors for an indulgent treat!
Ingredients:
  • 660g pkt brownie mix
  • 125g unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 Free Range Eggs, lightly whisked
  • 680g jar pitted morello cherries, drained reserving liquid
  • 2 x 80g Cherry Ripe Twin Pack chocolate bars, chopped
  • 40.00 gm caster sugar
  • 40.00 ml amaretto liqueur (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • Icing sugar, to dust
Instructions:
  • 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a 20cm square cake pan, lining it with baking paper so the edges hang over. 2. Make the brownie mix as per the packet using butter and egg. 3. Keep half the cherries aside. Mix the rest of the cherries and chocolate into the brownie batter. 4. Gently fold the ingredients together and spread the batter into the pan, smoothing the top.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow it to cool in the pan.
  • In a saucepan, combine the reserved cherry liquid and sugar over medium heat. Stir and cook for 2 mins until sugar dissolves. Increase heat to high and bring to a boil. Let it cook for 5 mins until the liquid reduces by half. Remove from heat and stir in amaretto (if using) and vanilla. Transfer to a heatproof bowl, add the reserved cherries, and refrigerate for 1 hour to chill.
  • Sprinkle brownie with powdery icing sugar, slice into delectable squares, and plate alongside succulent cherries in sweet syrup.
