Blended Whole Lemon Lemonade

Whole lemon sweet-sour lemonade with a hint of bitterness – a refreshing summer drink.
Ingredients:
  • 3 thin-skinned lemons (3 to 3 1/2 ounces each)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups cold water, divided
  • Ice, for serving
Instructions:
  • Prepare the lemons for blending: Rinse the lemons to remove any wax and trim off the hard stem. Quarter the lemons, remove the seeds, then cut into large chunks. Blend. Trim any thick skin or bitter parts if necessary.
  • Blend 3 cups of water with sugar in a blender until smooth, about 30 seconds.
  • Pour the lemonade through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher. Press the pulp with a silicone spatula to extract all the juice. Discard the pulp if preferred.
  • Incorporate the rest of the water into the mixture and serve: Pour the remaining cup of water and gently mix until well combined. Serve the refreshing lemonade over ice.
