Prepare this indulgent French toast bake with creamy cream cheese, sweet maple syrup, and fresh blueberries either an hour before or the night before for a delightful breakfast treat.
Ingredients:
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 0.33333334326744 cup maple syrup
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 (1 pound) loaf cinnamon swirl bread, cubed
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup blueberries
Instructions:
  • Prepare the baking dish by generously spraying it with cooking spray.
  • Combine eggs with a harmonious medley of milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  • Assemble a decadent layer of bread and cream cheese in the dish. Top with a generous sprinkle of blueberries. Pour over the luscious milk mixture. Cover with foil and chill for 1 hour or overnight. If desired, give it a gentle stir halfway through to ensure the bread absorbs the rich egg mixture.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C. Allow the baking dish to come to room temperature for 10 minutes before baking.
  • Bake covered in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake until the top is golden brown and set, for about 30 minutes more.
