Elevate blueberry scones with white chocolate and orange zest for a decadent twist.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 0.25 cup shortening
  • 0.5 white chocolate, chopped
  • 0.33333334326744 cup blueberries
  • 0.5 teaspoon grated orange zest
  • 0.5 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a food processor or blender, combine 2 cups of flour, baking powder, and sugar with a few pulses. Add shortening and pulse until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
  • In a bowl, combine flour mixture with white chocolate, blueberries, and orange zest. Gradually stir in milk until a smooth batter forms. Transfer the mixture to a floured board and sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup flour. Knead a few times to incorporate flour and form a smooth dough.
  • Roll the dough out to a luxurious 1/2-inch thickness, then cut out the scones to your preferred size using a biscuit cutter. Arrange the scones elegantly on a baking sheet.
  • Bake until beautifully golden in the preheated oven, approximately 15 minutes.
