"Golden, crispy boneless chicken strips fried to perfection."
Ingredients:
  • oil for deep frying
  • 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2-inch strips
  • 0.25 cup hot pepper sauce
  • 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions:
  • Prepare all ingredients and heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for cooking.
  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  • Combine egg and milk in a small bowl and whisk until smooth.
  • Coat each chicken piece in the egg mixture and then the flour mixture, ensuring a double coating. Chill the breaded chicken in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  • Sear chicken pieces in hot oil until perfectly golden and juices are clear, about 5 to 6 minutes. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter with hot sauce for 20-30 seconds. Pour over fried chicken and toss to coat evenly.
