Indulgent sauce - ideal for gifting or adding flavor to desserts and drinks.
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 1 lb fresh dark sweet cherries, pitted
  • 1 (1-quart) heatproof jar with tight-fitting lid
Instructions:
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, water, and lemon juice and bring to a boil. Simmer over low heat for 8 to 10 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat and stir in brandy and pitted cherries. Enjoy!
  • Place the cherries in a jar and make sure they are completely covered with the liquid. Seal the jar tightly with the lid and let it cool completely for about 3 hours.
  • Age in the refrigerator for 4 to 6 weeks prior to serving.
