Elevate your holiday meal with tangy cranberry sauce featuring sweet brandy and zesty citrus flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 0.66666668653488 cup orange zest
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 0.66666668653488 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3 cups cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon brandy
Instructions:
  • Check the 1/2-pint jars for cracks and rust on the rings, and discard any defective ones. Place them in simmering water until the cranberry sauce is ready. Clean the new lids and rings with warm soapy water.
  • In a small pan, simmer water and orange zest over medium heat until boiling and cover. Let it simmer for 15 minutes then drain, saving all zest and 1/3 cup liquid.
  • Combine the zest and reserved liquid in the pan, along with sugar, orange juice, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Add the cranberries to the pot and raise the heat to medium-high. Let them boil until they pop and the sauce thickens enough to set on a cold plate, which should take around 10 minutes.
  • Take off the heat and mix in the brandy. Fill the prepared jars, leaving a 1/2 inch space at the top. Let it cool to room temperature, then seal and store in the fridge.
