Quickly elevate ice cream with a simple 15-minute stovetop sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon brandy
  • 6 oz fresh raspberries (1 cup)
  • Ice cream
  • Fresh mint leaves, if desired
Instructions:
  • In a small heavy saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat without stirring. Cook for about 10 minutes until mixture caramelizes (be vigilant to prevent burning).
  • Take the pan off heat and mix in the brandy and raspberries. Put the pan back on low heat for 2 minutes, gently stirring and mashing the berries until well combined.
  • Remove seeds from the mixture by straining it. Pour the warm sauce over the ice cream and top with fresh mint for a delightful finishing touch.
