Brandy Butter (Hard Sauce)

Delicious sauce for Plum Pudding; perfect on warm raisin toast.
Ingredients:
  • 1.125 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 4 tablespoons brandy
Instructions:
  • Combine butter, confectioners sugar, orange rind, orange juice, and brandy or cognac in a food processor. Blend until creamy. Transfer the sauce to a serving bowl and chill. Allow to sit at room temperature for an hour before serving.
