Indulge in decadent chocolate sticky buns with a luscious caramel topping.
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups Gold Medal™ Better for Bread™ flour or Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 3 teaspoons bread machine yeast
  • 3/4 cup pecan halves
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • Add all Sticky Bun ingredients, except pecans and 2 tablespoons of butter, to the bread machine pan following the manufacturer's instructions for ingredient order.
  • Choose the Dough/Manual cycle without using the Delay cycle. Take out the dough from the pan using lightly floured hands. Cover and allow it to rest for 10 minutes on a lightly floured surface.
  • Pour indulgent melted butter into a generously ungreased 13x9x2 inch rectangular baking pan. Mix in 1 cup of rich brown sugar and the luscious corn syrup until well combined. Smooth the mixture evenly in the pan and generously sprinkle with aromatic pecans.
  • On a lightly floured surface, shape the dough into a 15x10-inch rectangle. Spread 2 tablespoons of butter evenly over the dough. In a small bowl, combine all Chocolate Chip Filling ingredients and sprinkle over the butter. Roll the dough tightly starting from the 15-inch side and seal the edge by pinching the dough. Shape the roll evenly and cut it into fifteen 1-inch slices. Arrange the slices slightly apart in a pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size. Dough is ready if an indentation remains when touched.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Quickly invert pan onto a heatproof serving platter. Allow the pan to sit on the buns for 1 minute, then remove the pan.
