Elevate your Thanksgiving meal with our must-make Bread Stuffing - a classic with herbs, soft bread, veggies, and butter. Simple 3-step recipe that smells and tastes amazing. Perfect with turkey or as a sandwich filling.
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 large celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 9 cups soft bread cubes (15 slices)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme leaves or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions:
  • Prepare your baking dish by generously greasing a 3-quart casserole or rectangular baking dish measuring 13x9x2 inches.
  • In a 4-quart Dutch oven, melt butter over medium-high heat until sizzling. Saute celery and onion in the butter for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender. Remove the Dutch oven from the heat.
  • Toss the celery mixture and remaining ingredients carefully with a spoon until the bread cubes are evenly coated.
  • Spread the stuffing evenly in a casserole dish. Cover with a lid or aluminum foil and bake at 325°F for 30 minutes. Remove the cover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
