Philly-inspired breakfast cheesesteak: chicken sausage, peppers, cheese on French toast.
Ingredients:
  • 6 large eggs, divided
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 4 thick slices bread
  • 1 (5 ounce) package Jones Dairy Farm All Natural Golden Brown® Chicken Sausage Patties
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 0.5 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 slices provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
  • Whisk 2 eggs and milk in a medium bowl. Dip bread into the egg mixture until fully coated. Cook French toast on a griddle or large skillet over medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
  • Follow the cooking directions on the package for the sausage patties, then slice them into strips.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat with olive oil. Cook garlic, peppers, and onions until browned and tender.
  • Combine the cooked sausage strips with the pepper and onion mixture, top with cheese, and heat until the cheese is melted.
  • Prepare the remaining eggs to be cooked over easy, or to your preference.
  • Layer French toast with a savory mixture of scrambled eggs, sausage, peppers, and cheese. Season with salt and pepper, then serve open-faced.
