Elevate classic grits with sharp Cheddar cheese and a hint of black pepper for a simple and delicious dish.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup hominy grits
  • 0.5 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, bring salted water to a boil. Whisk in grits and continue whisking for 1 minute. Reduce heat once it boils again, simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Take the grits off the heat, then blend in the cheese, butter, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until the butter and cheese are fully melted.
