Elevate your holiday spread with decadent Brie topped with caramelized onions, nuts, and cranberries, perfect for entertaining. Serve with crispy crackers for a gourmet touch.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter or stick margarine*
  • 1 medium onion, cut into fourths and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1 round (15 ounces) Brie cheese
  • 1/4 cup coarsely chopped pistachio nuts, slivered almonds or walnuts
  • Crackers, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, melt butter until sizzling. Sauté onions for 10 minutes, stirring frequently until golden. Add cranberries, brown sugar, and vinegar, then cook for about 5 minutes until thickened and caramelized, stirring often.
  • Prepare an ovenproof plate by brushing it lightly with oil. Arrange the cheese in the center of the plate. Bake without a cover for 8 to 10 minutes until the cheese becomes soft and starts to melt.
  • Top the cheese with a savory onion mixture, sprinkle with crunchy nuts, and enjoy with your favorite crackers.
