Baked brie with caramelized apples and onions, wrapped in puff pastry, topped with roasted garlic and candied walnuts.
Ingredients:
  • 1 head garlic
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 Granny Smith apple - peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 (8 ounce) wedge Brie cheese
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). Place garlic on a baking sheet, and generously drizzle with olive oil. Roast for 15-20 minutes until garlic is soft. Set aside.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1/4 cup butter until it sizzles. Stir in the onion and apple, sautéing them until tender and caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Lay out brie on the puff pastry. Spread the apple and onion mixture on top of the cheese. Fold the pastry over the brie and seal it shut. Brush with melted butter for a delicious finish.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown, then serve warm with a sprinkle of whole roasted garlic cloves for a flavorful finish.
