Indulge in irresistible brown butter chocolate chip cookies - crispy edges, chewy centers, made effortlessly with microwaved nutty brown butter.
Ingredients:
  • 6 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 0.5 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Place butter in a microwave-safe bowl, cover with parchment paper, and top with a microwave-safe plate. Microwave for 5 minutes until butter turns golden brown and smells nutty. If needed, microwave in 30-second intervals until desired aroma is reached, adding an extra 30 to 90 seconds if necessary.
  • Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl, and leave to sit.
  • Cream together brown butter, brown sugar, and sugar until smooth and creamy in a separate bowl. Incorporate egg and vanilla until well blended. Gently mix in flour mixture and chocolate chips until just combined. Transfer dough to a container, cover, and chill in the refrigerator for 4 to 24 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Use a medium-sized cookie scoop to form dough balls and place them on the baking sheet, ensuring they are 2 inches apart.
  • Bake until edges are lightly browned, 13 to 15 minutes. Let cool briefly on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack.
