Delicious sweet pastry twists, perfect with seasonal fruit.
Ingredients:
  • 2 sheets (25 x 25cm) ready-rolled puff pastry, partially thawed
  • 30g (1 1/2 tbsp) butter, melted
  • 150g (3/4 cup, firmly packed) brown sugar
  • 125g (1/2 cup) sour cream
  • 1/2 pineapple, skin removed, cored, cut into chunks
  • 250g (1 punnet) strawberries, hulled, halved
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C. Prepare 2 baking trays with non-stick baking paper. Brush one side of the pastry sheets with melted butter and sprinkle evenly with 1/2 cup of sugar. Cut the sheets lengthwise into 3 strips. Roll each strip up lengthwise, pressing down gently on each roll, then twist the strips.
  • Place on lined trays and bake in a preheated oven for about 12 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Serve sour cream and the remaining sugar in separate small bowls. Arrange twists, pineapple, and strawberries on a platter. For a delightful experience, dip the twists first in sour cream, then in sugar.
