Indulgent single-serving mug brownie ready in just 10 minutes. Top with ice cream or whipped cream for a decadent treat!
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) butter, mild extra-virgin olive oil, or neutral oil
  • 1/4 cup (30 grams) flour
  • 3 tablespoons (35 grams) sugar
  • 2 tablespoons (13 grams) natural unsweetened cocoa powder (NOT Dutch processed)
  • Pinch salt
  • Tiny pinch cinnamon, optional
  • 3 tablespoons (44 ml) milk, water, or coffee
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice cream, whipped cream, or heavy cream, for serving
Instructions:
  • For butter users: Place the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or ramekin and microwave at 50% power for 30 seconds. Continue microwaving in 10-second intervals until melted. Skip this step if using extra virgin olive oil or neutral oil.
  • In a microwave-safe ceramic mug, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa, salt (if using unsalted butter), and optional cinnamon until the mixture resembles brown sand and is clump-free.
  • Combine the wet ingredients: Blend the butter or oil using a fork until a paste is formed. Add the milk, water, or coffee, and vanilla. Mix well with the fork until a smooth consistency is achieved. Note that the batter may appear slightly thin, which is perfectly normal.
  • Microwave uncovered on high power for 1 minute, adjusting as needed in 10-second increments until the brownie is slightly moist. Allow wet spots to set as the brownie rests.
  • Allow the brownie to cool for 4 minutes. This will enhance its flavor and texture as it continues to cook from the residual heat.
  • Serve with a scoop of luscious vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Please share your feedback with a rating and review!
