Indulgent brownie slice with a buttery base and rich chocolate topping - irresistibly decadent and easy to devour!
Ingredients:
  • 185g butter, softened
  • 215.00 gm caster sugar
  • 2.20 gm vanilla extract
  • 500.00 ml flour
  • 2.00 gm baking powder
  • 300g Dark Baking Chocolate
  • 185g butter, extra
  • 270.00 gm brown sugar
  • 3 eggs, extra, lightly beaten
  • 4.40 gm vanilla extract, extra
  • 187.50 ml flour, extra
  • 32.50 gm Cocoa
  • 375.00 ml pecan nuts, toasted and chopped
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 33cm x 22cm pan by lining it with foil, allowing some excess to hang over the edges.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and caster sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla, beat well, then gently fold in the sifted flour and baking powder. Press the mixture into a pan and bake in a preheated 190°C oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden. Allow to cool slightly in the pan on a wire rack.
  • In a saucepan, melt chocolate, butter, and brown sugar over moderate heat, stirring frequently until smooth. Remove from heat, whisk in extra eggs and vanilla. Add sifted extra flour and cocoa, then stir in pecans. Pour over the cooled base and bake for 25-30 minutes until set.
  • Let the mixture in the pan cool fully on a wire rack. Lift using the foil, cut into 20 squares, and store in an airtight container until needed.
