Brussels sprouts with bacon and hazelnuts

Brussels sprouts enhanced with savory bacon and crunchy hazelnuts for a delicious twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1kg brussels sprouts, trimmed
  • 150g bacon, rind removed, finely chopped
  • 30g butter
  • 75g (1/2 cup) dry-roasted hazelnuts
  • 40.00 ml verjuice or balsamic vinegar
  • 40.00 ml chopped fresh continental parsley
Instructions:
  • Boil brussels sprouts in a large saucepan of lightly salted water for 8 minutes until tender. Drain well.
  • Heat a large frying pan over high heat and cook the bacon until golden, about 3 minutes.
  • In a pan, combine butter and hazelnuts and cook for 1 minute until the butter melts. Add brussels sprouts and verjuice or vinegar. Season with salt and pepper, then cook for another minute until heated through. Finish by sprinkling with parsley before serving.
