Ohio-inspired sweet treat with decadent chocolate and peanut butter flavors, reminiscent of classic buckeye candies.
Ingredients:
  • 6 cups Chocolate Chex™ cereal
  • 1 cup hazelnuts (filberts)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 package (8 oz) chocolate-covered Reese's peanut butter cups miniatures (1 1/2 cups)
Instructions:
  • Place a sheet of waxed paper on a cookie sheet. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the cereal and hazelnuts.
  • Microwave peanut butter, brown sugar, and butter in a 2-cup measuring cup for 1 minute until bubbly. Stir and microwave for an additional 30 seconds to 1 minute until boiling. Pour the mixture over the cereal, stirring until well coated.
  • Microwave on High for 3 minutes, stirring and scraping the bowl every minute. Spread on a cookie sheet and refrigerate for 5 minutes to cool. Mix in peanut butter candies and store in an airtight container.
