Bulgogi (Korean Barbecued Beef)

Soy sauce, sesame, garlic, and sugar marinade enhances beef and veggies, served over white rice for a delicious meal.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (MSG)
  • 1 pound beef top sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 0.5 yellow onion, chopped
Instructions:
  • Marinate beef, carrots, and onions in a flavorful mix of soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, garlic, sugar, salt, black pepper, and MSG in a resealable bag. Shake well to coat everything, then refrigerate for at least 2 1/2 hours - for even better flavor, marinate overnight.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat. Take the marinated meat and vegetables out, then place them on a large sheet of aluminum foil and seal it shut. Discard the leftover marinade.
  • Grill until reaching desired level of doneness, for 15 to 20 minutes.
