Buttermilk Honey Wheat Bread

Irresistible honey buttermilk wheat bread - best enjoyed fresh and warm.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1.5 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1.5 cups buttermilk, at room temperature
Instructions:
  • In the pan of a bread machine, mix together yeast, whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, honey, oil, and buttermilk.
  • Bake in bread machine on medium temperature setting.
  • Knead the dough using the manual or dough cycle in a bread maker. Transfer the dough to a greased loaf pan and allow it to rise until doubled in size. Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 25 minutes or until the bottom of the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
