Butterscotch Brownies

Decadent brownies crafted with rich devil's food cake mix and butterscotch chips from Betty Crocker™.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
  • 1/3 cup butterscotch chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line an 8- or 9-inch square pan with foil, ensuring the foil extends over two opposite sides of the pan.
  • Combine cake mix, melted butter, and three-fourths of condensed milk in a medium bowl. Press half of the dough into the bottom of the pan. Bake for about 6 minutes, or until the top starts to set.
  • Next, transfer the other half of the dough onto a 10-inch square piece of foil, shaping it into a square just smaller than the pan.
  • Drizzle the rest of the condensed milk over the brownie base and sprinkle with butterscotch chips before carefully placing the pressed-out dough in the pan.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the side of the pan comes out almost clean. Allow to cool in the pan on a cooling rack for at least 1 hour.
  • Lift the brownie from the pan using foil, then dust with cocoa powder and cut into 9 square pieces.
