Upgrade classic cream cheese brownies with decadent butterscotch chip topping for a rich and irresistible delight.
Ingredients:
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2.3333332538605 cups white sugar, divided
  • 3 eggs, divided
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 0.66666668653488 cup cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 (11 ounce) package butterscotch chips (Nestle® Toll House®)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 10x13-inch baking dish by greasing and flouring it.
  • Use an electric mixer to blend cream cheese, 1/3 cup sugar, and 1 egg in a bowl until smooth.
  • Combine water, rich cocoa powder, and butter in a saucepan, then gently heat over medium-low heat until smooth and melted, which should take about 5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, 2 cups sugar, eggs, sour cream, baking soda, vanilla extract, and salt until combined. Beat in the chocolate mixture until smooth, then spread the batter into the prepared baking dish. Spoon the cream mixture over the batter and swirl with a knife to create a marbled pattern. Sprinkle butterscotch chips on top.
  • Bake in the oven until the top is dry and the edges begin to pull away from the sides of the pan, approximately 35 minutes.
