Cadbury timeless chocolate sponge roll

Elevate the classic chocolate dessert with a modern twist – try fresh berries, creamy liqueur, or grated chocolate for a deliciously nostalgic treat!
Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 161.25 gm caster sugar
  • 112.50 gm self-raising flour
  • 32.50 gm Cocoa
  • 82.50 gm boiling water
  • 330.00 gm jam
  • 315.63 gm thickened cream, whipped
  • Cadbury Bournville cocoa, extra, for dusting
Instructions:
  • * Whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form using an electric mixer. * Gradually blend in the sugar, making sure to beat well after each addition. * Gently mix in the egg yolks one by one. * Sift the cocoa and flour onto the mixture, then fold gently. * Pour the water down the bowl's side and fold it in.
  • Transfer the mixture into a prepared 32cm x 22cm Swiss Roll pan greased and lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake at 180°C for 15-20 minutes, then carefully transfer onto a tea towel and roll it up starting from a short side. Let it cool completely while rolled up.
  • Spread the sponge with jam and cream, then roll it up to enclose the filling. Dust generously with cocoa before serving.
