Cajun-inspired cheesy grits, a quick and tasty Southern side dish ready in just 15 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup uncooked quick-cooking corn grits
  • 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
  • 1 cup shredded pepper Jack cheese (4 oz)
  • Sliced green onions, if desired
Instructions:
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, bring milk, water, Cajun seasoning, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to a boil. Gradually stir in grits while simmering uncovered for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently until thickened.
  • Stir cheeses into the grits until melted. Serve warm and top with fresh onions for a delicious finish.
