Savory calico bean casserole with beef, bacon, and onion mixed with kidney, pork, and butter beans, baked to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 4 ounces bacon, chopped
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 1 (16 ounce) can baked beans with pork
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, undrained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can butter beans, undrained
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • salt to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) to create the perfect cooking environment.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the beef, bacon, and onion until the beef is crumbled and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remember to drain the fat before proceeding.
  • In a large bowl, mix together baked beans, pork, kidney beans, butter beans, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and vinegar. Add the cooked beef mixture, combine well, and season with salt and pepper. Transfer the mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Place in the perfectly heated oven for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
