Elevate any meal with this irresistible camembert tart.
Ingredients:
  • 200g plain flour
  • 125g chilled butter, cut into pieces
  • 60.00 gm iced water
  • 60g Camembert, sliced into 8
  • 125ml thickened cream
  • 1 egg
  • Pinch of grated nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper
  • Salad leaves, to serve
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, butter, and a pinch of salt in a food processor and pulse until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add water and pulse until dough forms a ball. Gently press the dough together by hand, shape it into a ball, and wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to rest.
  • Thinly roll out the pastry and gently press it into a 23cm x 10cm x 2.5cm loose bottom flan tin. Trim any excess pastry and place the tin in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C. Bake the frozen pastry case for 20 minutes or until lightly golden. Lower the oven temperature to 180°C. Arrange camembert slices in the tart. Combine cream and egg, season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the camembert in the tart. Place on a baking tray and bake for 25-30 minutes until the custard is set and golden. Serve warm or at room temperature with salad leaves.
