Whip up a delicious pear and camembert pie with just a simple pastry crust, flavorful filling, and a quick bake - no pie dish needed!
Ingredients:
  • 2 sheets frozen ready-rolled puffed pastry, partially thawed
  • 30g butter, melted
  • 16.00 gm brown sugar
  • 2 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 medium buerre bosc pear, peeled, quartered, cored, thinly sliced
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 60g camembert cheese, thinly sliced
  • Baby spinach, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 220°C (200°C fan-forced) and line 2 baking trays with baking paper. Cut out four 14cm rounds from the pastry and place them on the prepared trays. In a bowl, mix together butter, sugar, and thyme.
  • Place the pear slices neatly on the pastry, ensuring to leave a 2cm border. Drizzle the pear with the delicious butter mixture. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling, creating a beautiful rustic look. Brush the pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes. Evenly distribute the cheese over the pears, season with a sprinkle of pepper, and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese melts and the pastry turns golden. Serve alongside fresh spinach for a delightful meal.
