Indulge in a decadent French dip with caramelized onions, cranberries, and creamy Camembert cheese, paired with crackers and bread in just 35 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small sweet onion, halved, thinly sliced
  • 1 (8-oz.) round Camembert cheese
  • 1/4 cup sweetened dried cranberries
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sweet or dry sherry
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh marjoram or 1 teaspoon dried marjoram leaves
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, melt butter and cook onion for 8 to 10 minutes until very tender, stirring frequently.
  • Place cheese in an elegant ovenproof dish and bake at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese is soft and gooey.
  • Combine cranberries, brown sugar, salt, and sherry with onions, ensuring everything is well mixed. Cook for 5 minutes until the sugar has dissolved, stirring often. Add marjoram, continue to cook and stir for 1 minute.
  • Gently ladle the fragrant onion mixture over the creamy cheese. Accompany with an array of crisp crackers and petite cocktail bread slices. Chill in the refrigerator for optimal freshness.
