Savory Camembert cheese, crispy fried, paired with tangy cranberry sauce for an impressive, quick appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (8 ounce) rounds Camembert cheese
  • oil for frying
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 (16 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
Instructions:
  • Chill Camembert cheese in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) until hot and shimmering.
  • Add the flour to a bowl. Combine eggs and milk in a separate bowl. Place the bread crumbs in a third bowl.
  • Take the cheese out of the freezer and slice each round into 6 wedges. Coat each wedge with flour, dip in the egg-milk mixture, and press into bread crumbs until fully coated.
  • Fry the breaded wedges in hot oil until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried cheese to a paper towel-lined plate. Serve with cranberry sauce on the side.
