Spicy candied walnuts: a versatile and delicious treat for any occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 141.90 gm caster sugar
  • 57.20 gm honey
  • 1 tsp finely grated orange rind
  • 1 tsp dried chilli flakes
  • 230.00 gm walnuts
  • Gorgonzola cheese, to serve
  • Sliced pears, to serve
  • Crackers, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan-forced) and prepare a baking tray by greasing it.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, blend sugar, honey, and 1/4 cup cold water until sugar dissolves for about 5 minutes. Increase heat to high and cook without stirring until mixture turns light golden, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Swiftly combine orange rind, chili, and walnuts. Spread the nut mixture onto the tray. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes until bubbling and golden. Take out of the oven, cool on the tray. Break apart the nut clusters using your hands. Serve with cheese, pear, and crackers.
