Homemade cinnamon sugar candied walnuts - a delightful holiday treat or gift option!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound walnut halves
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and spread walnuts in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until nuts are fragrant and start to brown.
  • Combine sugar, milk, cinnamon, and salt in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil while using a candy thermometer. Let it cook until temperature reaches 240 degrees F (115 degrees C), about 8 minutes. To test, drop a bit of syrup into cold water - it should form a soft ball that flattens. Take it off the heat and stir in vanilla.
  • Coat nuts in the pan until fully coated. Transfer nuts to waxed paper and use a fork to break up any clumps. Let nuts cool to room temperature.
