Deliciously moist apple loaf cake topped with homemade caramel sauce, perfect with ice cream or whipped cream.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 cup applesauce
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2.5 cups apples - peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 0.5 cup chopped nuts
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 0.5 teaspoon corn syrup
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • Use an electric mixer to blend sugar, applesauce, egg, oil, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth and combined.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Mix into the sugar mixture until combined. Gently fold in apples and nuts. Pour the batter into the loaf pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and cool completely.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, blend brown sugar, butter, heavy whipping cream, and corn syrup. Let the mixture come to a boil and cook for 1 minute while stirring continuously. Allow the caramel to cool before elegantly drizzling it over the cake.
