Delicious apple caramel dessert with oatmeal cookie crust, creamy layers, and apple pie filling - a potluck favorite!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Oatmeal Cookie Mix
  • Butter, water and egg called for on cookie mix pouch
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons caramel sauce
  • 1 container (12 oz) Cool Whip frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling with more fruit, chopped (about 2 cups)
  • 2 boxes (4-serving size each) Jell-O™ vanilla-flavor instant pudding & pie filling mix
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F. Follow the instructions on the pouch to make and bake the cookies. Allow the cookies to cool completely, for at least 20 minutes.
  • Using a food processor, finely grind half of the cookies and transfer to a medium bowl. Repeat with the remaining cookies and add to the same bowl. Mix in melted butter until fully combined. Press the cookie crumb mixture firmly onto the bottom of a 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish. Set aside for later use.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to blend together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1/2 cup caramel sauce until smooth, scraping the sides of the bowl often. Mix in 2 cups of whipped topping. Spread this mixture over the cookie crust, then spoon and spread the apple pie filling over the cream cheese layer.
  • - In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry pudding mixes and milk for about 2 minutes until thickened. - Spoon dollops of the pudding mixture all over the apple layer and spread evenly. - Repeat with spoonfuls of the whipped topping over the pudding layer and spread evenly. - Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours before serving.
  • Before serving, generously drizzle the leftover 2 tablespoons of caramel sauce on top. Cut the dish into 6 rows by 4 rows and refrigerate any leftover pieces covered.
