Stovetop caramel frosting made with butter, brown sugar, and powdered sugar - ready in 15 minutes using pantry basics.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons milk, or more as needed
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
  • Assemble all the ingredients.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter until sizzling. Add brown sugar and 3 tablespoons of milk, stirring constantly. Bring to a vigorous boil for 1 minute.
  • Take the mixture off the heat and gently fold in 1/2 cup of confectioners' sugar.
  • Allow to cool slightly, then vigorously mix in vanilla and the remaining 1/2 cup of confectioners' sugar. If the mixture appears too thick, incorporate more milk as needed.
