Irresistible holiday snack: sweet caramel meets salty pretzels, nuts, and popcorn in a mess-free brown bag mix. Kids love it!
Ingredients:
  • 8 cups broken salted pretzels
  • 20 cups popped popcorn
  • 4 cups dry roasted peanuts
  • 3 cups brown sugar
  • 0.75 cup light corn syrup
  • 1.5 cups butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions:
  • Combine the pretzels, popcorn, and peanuts in a large paper bag or a very large bowl. Let sit.
  • Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves, bringing the mixture to a boil. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Once off the heat, mix in the salt, vanilla, and baking soda - be cautious as the mixture will froth when adding the soda, use a long spoon for stirring. Quickly drizzle the sugar mixture over the popcorn and pretzels in the bag. Shake well to coat evenly. To enhance crispiness, either cook the sugar mixture for a longer time or bake the mixture in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 10 minutes.
