30-Minute Brussels Sprout and Sausage Penne: Flavorful, quick pasta dish.
Ingredients:
  • 250g penne
  • 4 Spicy Calabrese Pork Sausages, casings removed
  • 18.20 gm olive oil
  • 400g pkt brussels sprouts, ends trimmed, halved
  • 1 leek, pale section only, thinly sliced
  • 250ml thickened cream
  • 1 lemon, zested, juiced
  • 23.40 gm wholegrain mustard
  • 20g almond
Instructions:
  • Prepare the pasta in a large saucepan of boiling water according to the package instructions until it is cooked to perfection. Then, drain it thoroughly.
  • Heat a large frying pan over high heat. Cook the sausage mince, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon to break into pieces, until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Transfer the cooked sausage to a heatproof bowl using a slotted spoon.
  • Start by heating up a generous amount of oil in a frying pan until it shimmers. Add in the brussels sprouts and cook them, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, or until they start to develop a beautiful caramelized color.
  • Sauté leek and garlic until tender. Mix in sausage mince, cream, lemon juice, and mustard. Stir until sauce thickens. Add pasta, toss to combine, and season to taste.
  • Portion out the pasta mixture into individual serving bowls, then generously top with almond and lemon zest for a delightful finish.
