Create a homemade caramelized onion and sour cream dip with this simple and delicious recipe!
Ingredients:
  • 18.20 gm extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 red onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 16.00 gm brown sugar
  • 20.00 ml Italian White Wine Vinegar
  • 250g cream cheese, softened
  • 120g sour cream
  • Raw seasonal vegetables (such as carrots, cucumber, radishes and green beans), to serve
Instructions:
  • In a large frying pan over medium heat, heat the oil. Sauté the onion and cumin seeds for 10 minutes until the onion is very soft. Stir in the sugar and vinegar, cooking for an additional 5 minutes until the mixture caramelizes. Allow it to cool completely before using.
  • Combine cream cheese and sour cream in a food processor and blend until smooth.
  • Gently fold three-quarters of the onion mixture into the cream cheese mixture. Spoon into a serving dish, top with the rest of the onion mixture, and serve with vegetables.
