Elevate shortcakes with spiced sugar, caramelized bananas, and decadent fudge sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/3 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 6 medium bananas (2 3/4 lb), peeled, diagonally cut into 1/2-inch slices (4 1/2 cups)
  • 3/4 cup hot fudge topping, warmed
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • In a medium bowl, combine Bisquick mix, 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, and cinnamon until fully blended. Mix in the milk and 3 tablespoons of melted butter until a soft dough forms. Scoop out 6 heaping spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake until beautifully golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes.
  • In a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, melt 6 tablespoons of butter. Stir in 1/2 cup of brown sugar until dissolved, about 2 minutes. Add bananas to the pan and coat them with the caramel mixture. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon, then remove from heat.
  • Split the warm shortcakes and fill them with warm banana filling. Drizzle each with 2 tablespoons of hot fudge topping before serving.
