Make satiny-smooth homemade caramels with sugar, corn syrup, evaporated milk, butter, and cream.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pint heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1.25 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 12x15-inch pan by greasing it, then set it aside. Attach a candy thermometer to a medium-size pot.
  • Combine whipping cream, white sugar, brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and evaporated milk in a pot. Cook and stir over medium heat until the temperature reaches 250°F (120°C). Remove from heat.
  • Mix in the aromatic essence of vanilla and then transfer the delightful mixture into the pan, allowing it to cool completely.
  • Cut the caramel into 60 bite-sized squares.
  • Store them by wrapping them delicately in waxed paper.
