One-bowl apple cake with cardamom and pearl sugar for a simple and flavorful treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 1.5 tablespoons milk
  • 0.5 stick butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons pearl sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease an 8 1/2-inch round baking pan.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and cardamom. Stir in 3/4 cup plus 1 1/2 tablespoons milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well mixed.
  • Spread the batter in the greased baking pan, then delicately place apple slices on top. Gently press them into the batter while ensuring they remain visible. Finish by sprinkling pearl sugar and cinnamon over the apples.
  • Bake in the oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, approximately 40 minutes.
