Make these Halloween jelly cupcakes for a deliciously spooky treat.
Ingredients:
  • 370g packet chocolate cake mix
  • 85g packet lime flavoured jelly crystals
  • 180g packet sour worm lollies
  • 12 x 12cm lengths licorice strap
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced and prepare a 12-hole muffin pan by lining it with paper cases.
  • Prepare the cake batter as per package instructions. Divide the batter evenly among the paper liners. Bake for 18-20 minutes, until a skewer inserted into a cupcake comes out clean. Let the cupcakes rest in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool.
  • Prepare the jelly according to packet instructions. Transfer the jelly into a heatproof bowl and chill in the refrigerator for 45 minutes until it's nearly set.
  • With a small knife, carefully cut out a 1cm-deep circle from the top of each cupcake, leaving a 1cm border. Use a small spoon to scoop out the center of each cupcake, creating a 3cm-deep hole. Fill the cupcake holes with jelly, then insert sour worms into the jelly. Add a piece of licorice to each cupcake as a handle. Serve and enjoy!
