Ingredients:
  • 20g (1/2 cup) panko breadcrumbs
  • 40.00 ml char siu sauce
  • 20.00 ml Chinese rice wine
  • 10.60 gm light soy sauce
  • 500g pork mince
  • 1 egg, lightly whisked, plus extra, to brush
  • White pepper, to season
  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, just thawed, halved
  • Sesame seeds, to sprinkle
  • 43.20 gm hoisin sauce
  • 21.00 gm light soy sauce
  • 40.00 ml Chinese cooking wine
  • 1 tsp sriracha chilli sauce
Instructions:
  • Make the dipping sauce by mixing hoisin sauce, soy sauce, cooking wine, and sriracha in a small bowl. Cover and let it sit at room temperature to enhance the flavors.
  • 1. Preheat the oven to 220C (200C fan forced) and line 2 baking trays with baking paper. 2. In a medium bowl, combine breadcrumbs with char siu sauce, rice wine, and soy sauce. Let it soak for 5 minutes. 3. Mix in the mince and egg, then season with salt and white pepper. Stir until thoroughly combined.
  • Divide the mince mixture into 4 portions. Shape 1 portion into a 3cm x 24cm log and place it along the edge of a pastry piece. Brush the opposite edge with extra egg, then roll up the pastry to enclose the filling. Place on the prepared tray and repeat with the remaining pork mixture, pastry, and egg.
  • Brush the rolls with extra egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and cut each into 6 portions. Bake for 20 minutes until golden. Serve with the dipping sauce.
