Sautéed chayote squash with garlic, spices, and red wine vinegar for a delicious and flavorful side dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 chayote squash, cut into 1/2-inch strips
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
Instructions:
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté squash, garlic, salt, sugar, red pepper flakes, and black pepper for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the vinegar and continuously cook and stir until the squash is slightly wilted but still maintains a firm and crunchy texture, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes.
